Routes – Swiss Alps

As I said last week, I am excited about my upcoming trip to the Swiss Alps. I’m still a little shocked that it’s going to happen. Air travel has been booked; the bike has been reserved, more on that later.

In this post, I’m outlining my routes and focusing on making sure I am taking advantage of this incredible opportunity. I want to see and experience all I can.

Here is the list of the Passes, Lakes, and Valleys I’ll be riding over or around in no particular order:

  • Lake Como (with a stop at Balcone D’ Italia)
  • Susten Pass
  • Nufenen Pass
  • Klausen Pass
  • Grimsel Pass
  • Furka Pass
  • Lake Walensee
  • Gotthard Pass
  • Simplon Pass
  • San Bernardino Pass
  • Lauterbrunnen Valley
  • Grindelwald Valley
  • Lake Maggiore
  • Lake Brienz
  • Lake Lucerne

Using Rever.co has been a part of my route planning for about two years. I like how the waypoints stay constant from the website to the mobile version. This feature allows me to use my phone as my GPS. I set a custom “focus” mode on my iPhone to hide alerts, start the app, and follow the route.

Here are my routes. The markers are not necessarily stops but waypoints to keep me on the road. The “S” and “F” do, however, make the Start and Finish of my day.

Here are the direct links to each day. Let me know on Facebook or Instagram if there are any stops along this route or passes I need to include in this area of Switzerland.
